Loveland Pass is a high mountain pass in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado, USA. The pass is located west of Denver on U.S. Highway 6 in Clear Creek County. It provides a spectacular view of the Front Range mountains as it crosses the Continental Divide. The pass is also popular with hikers, bird watchers, skiers and snowboarders as it provides access to several ski resorts, including Arapahoe Basin, Loveland Ski Area, Keystone and Echo Mountain.

Just park your car at the top, take a short hike to the top and drop in. Many people do this including myself. Don’t worry about getting back to the top. Just stick out your thumb. There is always someone willing to give a lift back up to the top. The vibe is very friendly and powder plentiful.
Picnicking & Scenic Drives
Picnicking is a great way to enjoy the scenic beauty and peaceful nature of Loveland Pass Colorado. There are many places where you can pull over and throw down a blanket. There is even a small natural lake which you can drive up to. This is my favorite spot to picnic.
You don’t even have to leave you car to enjoy the scenery. Drive over the pass for the scenic beauty and stop at one of the many nearby resorts for lunch, dinner or some drinks.
The pass is also a favorite among bird watchers as it provides easy access to some of the best views in the area. You will often see people pulled over on the side of the road with their binoculars out. Watching the hawks and many other native species of birds.
